From my own shelves

Koula Education is a small humanities tutoring and advising practice offering individualized instruction in literature, history, writing, and close reading for middle and high school students, as well as selective admissions guidance for applicants to college, graduate, and professional programs.

I'm Polyxeni “Xeni” Tenerelli — pronounced KSEH-nee — and my background is in literary scholarship and teaching. I hold a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Harvard University and a B.A. with Honors in English Language and Literature from the University of Chicago.

After teaching at the college level early in my career, I have spent the last fifteen years working with young people and families through academic advising, humanities tutoring, and essay development for college and professional school applicants.

I designed Koula for curious, thoughtful students who want to read more deeply, think more clearly, and develop greater fluency in written and oral expression.

Based in Washington State, I work remotely with families across the country and abroad. I welcome inquiries from homeschool families, traditionally schooled students, and families seeking thoughtful humanities enrichment beyond the standard classroom.
