Projects may be completed over Google Meet, asynchronously, or through a combination of the two.

For Academic Portfolio Reviews or Admissions Essays, email your materials as a Word document or share them in a Google Doc. Include a brief description of the student and project, any relevant prompts or deadlines, and what you are hoping to accomplish. I will review the materials and confirm the appropriate service, price, and next steps before we begin.

For Application Design, Humanities Tutorials, or SAT preparation, email a brief description of the student, including their current grade, interests, and the kind of support you are seeking. I will recommend the most appropriate way to begin and provide information about scheduling an initial meeting or session.

An Academic Portfolio Review is an individualized assessment of selected writing, coursework, projects, and other evidence of a student’s intellectual development.

The review helps students and families identify strengths, emerging patterns, overlooked opportunities, and interests that may be worth cultivating more deeply.

Every review also includes an Interest & Opportunity Map with age-appropriate recommendations for further reading, independent projects, mentors, academic opportunities, and other ways to deepen interests already visible in the student’s work.

For elementary students, the emphasis is developmental and encouraging: thoughtful written feedback on a selection of writing, artwork, projects, or other schoolwork, together with ideas about what to strengthen and what to try next.

For middle and high school students, the review includes a detailed written evaluation of the student’s writing, coursework, projects, and intellectual interests; three recommended priorities for future development; and an optional 30-minute follow-up meeting with the student and/or parent.

Develop a long-term educational strategy that leads to a coherent, authentic admissions application.

Application Design is the intentional development of an admissions application that reflects a student’s genuine academic and personal growth. Together, we make thoughtful decisions about course selection, extracurricular activities, summer opportunities, college-list strategy, application timelines, and the many questions that arise as a student’s interests and goals develop.

An Application Design Brief is a written strategic analysis of the student’s current record, emerging academic direction, possible majors, institutional fit, and priorities for future development.

Tailored to the student’s context and stage of development, the brief presents one recommended developmental pathway and a second viable alternative, with concrete recommendations for coursework, activities, summer opportunities, independent projects, mentors, testing, and colleges or universities to consider.

There are four ways to work together on Application Design:

Written Brief — begins at $750

Families complete a detailed questionnaire and submit supporting materials, such as transcripts, course plans, activity lists, and selected samples of the student’s work. Drawing on these materials, I prepare a comprehensive written Application Design Brief.

Collaborative Brief — begins at $1,250

Includes the complete written brief, two 60-minute meetings—one strategy meeting before the brief is written and one review meeting afterward—and a revision incorporating the student’s feedback.

Ongoing Application Design Advising — begins at $500 per month

Available after completion of a Written or Collaborative Brief, ongoing advising provides continuing guidance as the student’s interests, opportunities, and plans develop. It includes two 60-minute meetings each month, between-meeting email support, ongoing review of planning materials, and updates to the student’s Application Design Brief as needed.

Standalone Advising Meeting — $175 for 60 minutes

For students and families seeking guidance on a focused educational or admissions question without beginning a larger engagement.

Build an admissions essay that reflects your voice, your thinking, and your experiences.

I work with undergraduate, graduate, and professional school applicants at every stage of the writing process, from early brainstorming and structural development to final revision. My goal is to help each student produce an essay that is clear, distinctive, true to the student’s voice, and genuinely ready to submit.

PIQs and Supplemental Essays

• Final Review — $100
  A focused review of a substantially complete essay, with attention to focus, structure, specificity, clarity, and final polish.
• Developmental Editing — $300
  Substantive guidance on the essay’s content, structure, and language, followed by feedback as the student develops the revised draft.
• Complete Essay Development — $500
  Support from initial brainstorming and planning through drafting and final revision, combining a planning meeting with detailed feedback throughout the process.

Personal Statements

• Final Review — $200
  A focused review of a substantially complete personal statement, with attention to focus, structure, voice, clarity, and final polish.
• Developmental Editing — $500
  Substantive guidance on the essay’s content, structure, voice, and language, followed by feedback as the student develops the revised draft.
• Complete Personal Statement Development — $750
  Support from initial brainstorming and selection of material through drafting and final revision. The process begins with a planning meeting and includes a written essay plan exploring possible structures, identifying the strongest direction, and providing a clear path forward for drafting.

Develop stronger reading, writing, and analytical thinking through individualized humanities instruction.

I work with a limited number of students for individualized tutorials in literature, analytical writing, close reading, rhetoric, AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, and related humanities subjects.

AP tutorials may focus on rhetorical analysis, synthesis, argument, poetry analysis, prose fiction analysis, literary argument, and timed writing, depending on the student’s course and current needs.

Each tutorial includes advance lesson preparation, a 90-minute meeting, written follow-up, and feedback on assigned written work. Every tutorial is designed around the student’s current needs, interests, and stage of development.

Humanities tutorials are $300 per ninety-minute lesson.

SAT Reading and Writing Preparation

I also offer focused, individualized preparation for the SAT Reading and Writing section, with instruction tailored to the student’s current strengths and areas for improvement.

SAT preparation is $175 per 60-minute session.
